Watercolor artist Marje Miller’s lifelong love of the arts began as a child growing up in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where her interest and talent in painting began. Marje began exploring acrylics in high school and moved on to watercolors in the early 1980s. Throughout motherhood and her career as a special education teacher, Marje always carved out time to paint. In 2002, she was accepted for membership in the Watercolor Guild in Tucson, Arizona, where her paintings were displayed in galleries and juried shows.
Like all good artists, Marje is an observational world traveler. She is also an experienced photographer and often uses her own photo composites to create interesting scenes to paint. Her watercolors have a translucent quality about them and are light in style and subject matter.
Marje has lived in several areas of the world from which she draws much of her artistic inspiration. After moving to Cairo, Egypt, in 2003, Marje began painting the scenes on the streets below her apartment, finding these everyday activities fascinating. Marje currently lives in Abu Dhabi, UAE, where she continues to teach, travel, and paint.
